The ever expanding digital world has given new meaning to the term "mixed media painting." Where it once indicated a painting in which which several mediums were combined, such as acrylic with pastel and perhaps collage, this definition is now broadened to include the addition of original digital imagery, further enriching and deepening the finished work.
As in any painter's studio, each piece begins with a paintbrush dipped in paint, in this case a digital paintbrush. It will then be further developed using some combination of painting and photo software applications. Finally, the image will be printed with ink on fine art paper, then completed using traditional multi-media, typically more ink, pastel, charcoal and/or paint, making each completed work a true multi-media painting. In some cases, my original photography provides the basis for the final work.
Unless custom ordered larger, these giclee prints are approximately 4" x 6 " in size, square images are 5" x 5" , matted in custom double thickness ivory matting, ready to fit a standard 16" x 20" frame.
Paintings require two weeks for finalization before delivery.
